Gifts that Keep on Giving
By:  Sherilyn Alexander

The year-end Holiday season is already in full swing, with all of us scattering our
thoughts and physical activities in so many different directions, we sometimes find it
difficult to focus on any one thing long enough to accomplish the action. No one can
believe we are closing another calendar year! It is also an excellent time to reserve
and spend some quiet reflection on the progress of our own lives, as well as to
observe the conditions that surround each one of us. Perhaps there are questions
that come into our minds about how we found ourselves in a particular situation, or
what might have happened if somewhere along the past 12 months we had made a
different decision about direction when faced with a fork in the road? Do we even give
a thought to the example we may be setting for the younger and most impressionable
minds that look to us as an example of how to live a life?  Is there any part of our
reflection that considers the following: How we choose to live our daily lives becomes
our legacy to all we unconditionally give our love to, and that this legacy is the gift that
keeps on giving well after every Holiday season has ended?

I truly believe that the gifts that keep on giving are ones that will continue to grow and
change from their original state of being. There is some responsibility and “heavy
lifting” involved from the giver to the receiver of these types of legacy gifts, such as:
Providing guidance, taking a chance on someone, nurturing the belief that a dream
can be achieved even against all of the odds. The giver is freely providing wisdom to
the receiver without attachment or an expectation of a return, and this is where the
growth and change occurs. The receiver appreciates the creative gift from the giver,
and then makes it their own. We have so much more than our important traditions to
pass along! While it is an interesting conversation to have with children about why
Grandmother's turkey dressing recipe is special, or to explain why a family celebrates
one day in a Holiday season above all of the other days, or joyfully express how
successful we were shopping for presents to meet wish lists, we have also been given
legacy gifts by Ilchi Lee of becoming healthy, happy, and peaceful ourselves, along
with the methods for how to teach others to achieve the same healthy condition
through the Brain Management Consultant (BMC) program and Brain Wave Vibration
(BWV)       training.

So as we celebrate this Holiday season, my wish list is that each one of us will
sincerely say “thank you” for the healing, and for all of the blessings (especially for
the challenging ones in our lives we don't yet understand) that we have been given to
create our life to live as it was intended, and that we choose to leave a legacy for all
we love that is a lighthouse of hope in their journey.  For it is the inheritance of hope
gifted into the future that will balance power and keep on growing love and
compassionate caring long past the point in time of our knowledge.  We gift a future
we may not see, but we will help to create it one thought, word, and action, with the
multiplier of a ripple effect across time. From a thankful heart and mind, I am sharing
with you the gifts of brightest light and biggest love now and always ~ please accept
these legacy gifts, make them your own, and then continue to grow them forward into
2011!
